Hypnotherapy Explained

Hypnosis isn't what you think it is.

Hypnosis is a fascinating state of focused attention and heightened suggestibility that allows individuals to tap into their subconscious mind. It is a natural and altered state of consciousness in which the individual enters a deeply relaxed and receptive state, often referred to as a trance.

During hypnosis, the conscious mind takes a backseat, allowing the subconscious mind to become more accessible and open to suggestion. This creates an opportunity for individuals to explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors at a deeper level. It's important to note that contrary to popular belief, hypnosis is not about losing control or being manipulated. Instead, it is a collaborative process between the hypnotist and the individual, where the individual remains in control and can choose to accept or reject suggestions.

You might be surprised to know that you have been hypnotized many times. Think back over your life, when have you accepted beliefs from other people(friends, family, teachers, TV, news, government) that you automatically assumed were true. You may not have been in a deep trance, but your beliefs can be changed in an instant when the mind is ready to accept it. When the subconscious mind accepts an idea as a "truth," you create new beliefs, perspectives, and behaviors about you and your world.

Hypnosis has been utilized for various purposes, including personal growth, behavior modification, stress reduction, overcoming fears and phobias, enhancing performance, and even pain management. By bypassing the critical faculty of the conscious mind, hypnosis can help individuals access their inner resources, uncover limiting beliefs, and facilitate positive change.

What Hypnotherapy isn't...

  • Rarely do people go to sleep during a hypnotherapy session. You are typically still aware of your surroundings

  • Again, you are in control during the entire session.

  • You don't have to be in a deep trance for hypnosis to happen. You might be surprised how quickly your life can change when having a conversation with Steve.

  • You are still in control of your mind and your body. Steve doesn't take over your control. You can walk away at any time.

  • Hypnosis has nothing to do with the invocation of supernatural powers. Quite the contrary – our work is based in neuroscience!

  • During Hypnotherapy, you're not going make any animal sounds, or do anything embarrassing. This work can be profoundly life-altering. We don't do parlor tricks.

Ultimately, hypnosis is a powerful tool that taps into the incredible potential of our subconscious mind. It allows us to explore our inner world, harness our innate abilities, and create profound life transformations.
